Steamer:
Discard freezer paper or bag
Leave corn husk & wax paper on.
Fill pot with a couple of inches of water. Turn heat on to medium low. Place tamale on a steamer insert or metal rack, cover with lid. If frozen 15 minutes. If thawed 8 minutes.
Microwave: Discard freezer paper or bag
Leave banana leaf/corn husk & wax paper on.
Defrost tamale 4-6 minutes. Once is all soft across and no icy spots. Place tamale in a zip lock bag, pour a 1/8 cup of water or wrap it in wet paper towel. Warm up 1.5 to 2.5 minutes. Reheating time depends on the size of tamale and microwave.
Electric steamer or rice cooker: Follow the manufacturer instructions.
